We advance leadership, healing, cultural wisdom, movement sustainability, and collective flourishing by investing in Black women's leadership, experiences, and lived realities while strengthening the communities, institutions, and movements connected to them.
We envision a world where people are no longer expected to sacrifice their wellbeing, dignity, or humanity in service of work, family, community, or social change, but are supported to heal, lead, create, rest, thrive, and flourish across generations.
We believe healing, justice, and collective flourishing are interconnected, and that lasting change requires both transforming systems and investing in the people and communities who live within them.
Her Changes is a healing-centered institute, community, and ecosystem dedicated to helping people, communities, and systems move from survival toward collective flourishing.
Rooted in the experiences, wisdom, and leadership of Black women, Her Changes operates at the intersection of healing, leadership, culture, faith, community, and systems change. We believe that lasting transformation requires more than changing policies or institutions. It also requires investing in the people, relationships, and communities that sustain them.
Our work is guided by a simple belief: when Black women have the resources, support, and opportunities to heal, lead, and thrive, entire communities benefit. Families become stronger. Communities become healthier. Movements become more sustainable. Future generations inherit new possibilities.
Her Changes brings together research, education, leadership development, spiritual formation, storytelling, culture, and systems transformation to address the conditions that shape individual and collective wellbeing. We draw from healing justice, womanist thought, Black faith traditions, cultural wisdom, collective care, community-based research, and movement-building practices to develop solutions that are both transformative and deeply human.
Our work is organized through five interconnected pillars:
These pillars create an ecosystem that supports both personal transformation and systemic change, because we believe
healing and justice belong together. Spiritual growth and community wellbeing are connected. Leadership is cultivated, not inherited. Stories matter. Culture matters. Faith matters. Systems matter. Most importantly, people matter. We exist to help build the conditions where individuals, families, communities, and future generations can heal, flourish, and live with dignity, purpose, and possibility.

Since 2023, we’ve worked to center the leadership, lived experience, and cultural knowledge of Black and Brown communities through healing justice, leadership development, arts and culture, and community-driven systems change. This nomination is a reflection of every young person, caregiver, community leader, partner, artist, organizer, and supporter who has helped bring this vision to life.
